Getting There

When booking your flights to and from Orlando International Airport (MCO) or Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) for Cruise to the Edge, we suggest that you consider arriving a day or two earlier so that you can take advantage of the local attractions in the surrounding areas. This also helps to avoid potential flight delays, baggage collection, and transfer problems that could occur. However, if you need to arrive the day of Cruise to the Edge, please arrive no later than 10:30 am on Monday, April May 2nd as all guests MUST be on board by 2:00 pm. We also recommend that you schedule your departure for no earlier than 12 pm on Saturday, May 7th, in the event there is a delay in debarkation.

Conveniently located east of Orlando, this port is easily accessible from area airports and hotels by car, taxi, and shuttle and bus.

Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB): 25 miles (40 minutes)

Airport Transfer
The Orlando Melbourne International Airport is the closest area airport to Port Canaveral  but many people choose to fly into Orlando International Airport as well.   Consider arriving a day or two earlier so that you can take advantage of the local attractions in the area. This also helps to avoid potential flight delays, baggage collection, and transfer problems that could occur.

Taxi
Taxi fare from the Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral is currently about $115 (prices subject to change).

Taxi fare from the Orlando Melbourne International Airport to Port Canaveral is currently about $100 (prices subject to change).

As of April 15, 2014, a $1.00 fuel surcharge is now added to every trip due to an increase in gas prices.  Taxicab drivers are required to obtain a fuel surcharge decal and post it on the vehicle’s rear passenger side window.

For other destinations, the cab fare is $2.60 upon entering the taxicab and $2.70 per mile thereafter.

Bus/Shuttles

Driving Directions
 If using a GPS device, use Cruise Terminal #1 9050 Discovery Road Cape Canaveral, Florida 32920 as your destination address.

From Orlando International Airport (MCO):
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is approximately 45 minutes west of Port Canaveral. Take the North Exit from the Airport, staying to the right, to S.R. 528 East (Toll Road). Take S.R. 528 east directly to Port Canaveral, Exit 54A for A Terminals (CT-5, -6, -8 and -10) or Exit 54B for B Terminals (CT-1 or CT-3).

From Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB):
Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) is located approximately 25 miles (40 minutes) south of Port Canaveral. Exit east (left) out of the airport onto NASA Boulevard and follow to U.S. Highway 1. Turn left (north) onto U.S Highway 1. Travel approximately 20 minutes on U.S. Highway 1 past S.R. 520 in Cocoa about four miles to S.R. 528 East. Exit onto S.R. 528 East and continue directly to Port Canaveral, Exit 54A for A Terminals (CT-5, -6, -8 and -10) or Exit 54B for B Terminals (CT-1 or CT-3).

Orlando International Airport (MCO) 
 is 44 miles from Port Canaveral and takes a minimum of 45 minutes travel time. Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) is 25 miles from Port Canaveral. Travel time is approximately 40 minutes.We recommend that if you are booking your flights for the cruise that you consider arriving a day or two earlier so that you can take advantage of the local attractions in the surrounding areas. This also helps to avoid potential flight delays, baggage collection, and transfer problems that could occur. If you are arriving on the same day your cruise departs, please schedule your arrival and departure flights as follows:

  •  Arrive no later than 10:30 am. Depart no earlier than 12:00 pm for either airport.

Official Port Canaveral Cruise Parking is available only directly adjacent to each of Port Canaveral’s Cruise Terminals.  The Port does not own or operate any off-Port parking facilities. Park at your cruise terminal’s designated parking area and simply take a short walk to your ship; no need for shuttles. Oversize parking for RV’s and buses is also available at each Cruise Terminal.

Parking Rates 

Parking is $17.00 per day (Vehicles & RVs), including day of arrival and day of departure.

For Disabled Persons

DISABLED PARKING spaces are available, and the fee is waived for vehicles transporting
certain persons who have disabilities that:

  • Have special equipment, such as ramps, lifts, foot or hand controls for use by a disabled person

OR

  • Display a Florida Toll Exemption Permit as explained in s. 316.1964, Florida Statutes

OR

  • Display a Florida Disabled Veteran (DV) license plate issued under s. 320.084; s. 320.0842; or s. 320.0845, Florida Statutes.

Parking agents will not grant parking waivers for any other reason than the ones listed above.
