Flights & Arrival Tips
Flying in for the ultimate Progressive Rock festival at sea? Planning your concert cruise flights early helps make embarkation day far less stressful. We strongly encourage you to arrive in Miami a day or two before embarkation. Not only does this let you enjoy Miami’s lively attractions, but it helps you avoid the stress of potential flight delays, baggage issues, or traffic.
- Embarkation Day Arrivals: If you must arrive the same day the ship sails, plan to arrive in Miami no later than 12:00 PM on Friday, April 2nd, 2027.
- Post-Cruise Departures: Schedule flights home for no earlier than 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 8th, 2027 to allow ample time for debarkation.
- Flying Into Fort Lauderdale: Flying into or out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)? Add an extra 1-2 hours of travel time to account for traffic between airports and the port.
Ground Transportation & Transfers
Luxury cruise logistics are all about seamless transitions. Here’s how to get from plane to port:
Distance from PortMiami:
- Miami International Airport (MIA): 8 miles (~25 minutes).
- Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL): 25 miles (~45 minutes).
Taxi Fare: All flat rates have been eliminated. A minimum fare of $15 is established for trips originating at MIA or the Port of Miami, regardless of what the meter reading shows. Ride Share & Shuttles: Options like Go Airport Shuttle and Super Shuttle operate in the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale areas, helping simplify Progressive Rock festival transportation for CTTE guests.
Car Rentals: Numerous rental companies operate near the port, some with shuttle services to their nearby lots. Confirm shuttle options with your rental company before booking.
Parking at PortMiami
Bringing your own wheels for your music cruise travel? PortMiami offers ample parking:
- Short-term parking: $20 per vehicle per day (no overnight).
- Long-term parking (overnight or longer): $35 per vehicle per day.
- Oversized vehicles park in Lot #2 across from Cruise Terminal E.
- All garages and lots are open from 6 am to 5 pm during cruise days.
- Payments accepted: Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and U.S. Traveler’s Checks. Debit cards not accepted.
Disabled Parking:
- Vehicles with a disabled parking permit receive two hours free parking. Beyond that, regular rates apply unless specialized equipment (ramps, lifts, etc.) or Florida Toll Exemption permits qualify for full exemption.
- Request a waiver at the exit by notifying the parking attendant.
- Disabled veterans with a Florida disabled veterans license plate (under Florida Statute 320.084) are eligible for free parking at PortMiami. To qualify, the veteran must be in the vehicle when parked.
To use this benefit, you must:
- Display the Florida disabled veterans license plate on your vehicle.
- When exiting, show the toll attendant your parking ticket, driver’s license, and vehicle registration.
- The parking attendant will have you fill out a short form.
