YOUR CRUISE CARD

For your convenience, all shipboard expenses are charged to your Onboard Expense Account, via your cruise card. This is a cashless system used for all onboard purchases and services. You will use your FREESTYLE CARD to pay for everything you purchase aboard the ship, such as beverages, duty-free items, spa services, shore excursions, etc. You are not able to use personal credit cards or cash to pay for these items onboard.

Your Cruise Card is also your form of ID as you get on and off the ship. You will need to carry this card with you at ALL times. If you lose your card, please go to Guest Services (Deck 7, forward/midship) immediately to get a new one. Keep your card away from water and cell phones as it can get demagnetized and stop working. Please do not punch a hole in this card as it may disrupt the chip in the card. During embarkation, you will receive a plastic sleeve inside the envelope with your laminate. This sleeve attaches to your lanyard and is designed to hold your cruise card for easy access.

Your onboard account can be set up with either a credit card or as a cash account. You may establish a master account and add guests from your stateroom or another stateroom as authorized purchasers on your account. Your Cruise Card will be set up during check-in using a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB Card or Diner’s Club. You may also use your debit card with a Visa or MasterCard logo, however, please be advised that Norwegian will obtain pre-authorization up to $300, as they do for all Credit and Debit Cards, and some banks hold these funds for up to 30 days.

Traveler’s checks or cash can also be used as a method of payment to settle your account with an initial deposit of $150 USD per person paid in advance. Personal checks and gift cards cannot be used to settle an onboard account at the end of the cruise. NCL NO LONGER exchanges foreign currencies for US dollars onboard.

Using your debit or ATM card

  • Please be advised that multiple holds will be placed on your debit card account based on your onboard purchases.
  • After settling your onboard folio, these debit card holds may remain on your account up to 30 days after the cruise ends.
  • To avoid overdraft charges from your bank, please make sure that you have enough available funds in your account during this hold period.
  • Neither Norwegian nor Cruise to the Edge will be responsible for overdraft charges resulting from holds placed on Debit Card accounts.

See the Guest Services Desk on Deck 7 if you have any questions or need assistance.

IMPORTANT
You will NOT be able to use your Cruise Card to purchase CTTE event merchandise. Merchandise may be purchased using personal credit cards and cash only. Cash may be obtained via the ATM on board located in the casino (Deck 6, Forward). Please check with the cashier regarding any applicable fees. Although cash and credit card are accepted, at times the ability to use a credit card may be limited due to Internet speed.

YOUR CABIN

WHEN YOUR STATEROOM WILL BE READY

Upon boarding the ship, cabins may still be in the process of being cleaned and not ready for our guests until approximately 2 pm. Feel free to take a tour of the Norwegian Pearl and/or grab a bite to eat up on Deck 12 at the buffet in the Garden Cafe. Once your cabin is available, a ship announcement will be made, and you may head to your stateroom.

LUGGAGE DELIVERY & STORAGE

If you’d prefer not to carry your bags while you explore the ship, you can store your carry-on luggage in the Bliss Lounge on Deck 7, Aft until your stateroom is ready. Any bags you won’t need until later in the evening should be checked with the porters in the terminal before boarding.

ONCE YOU’RE IN YOUR CABIN

Once your stateroom is ready, pop in to freshen up, drop off your bags, and then head back out to start enjoying the ship.

Take a quick look around your cabin to make sure everything looks good.

  • If your bed setup isn’t what you expected (for example, if you have two twins and would prefer them together), just call Guest Services or your stateroom steward from your cabin phone, or catch them in the hallway.
  • Need extra pillows, towels, or anything else? Let Guest Services or your stateroom steward know and they’ll take care of it.

Just a heads-up – embarkation day is very busy for the crew, so some requests might be handled later in the evening.

POWER & PROHIBITED ITEMS

Your stateroom is equipped with both 110 Volts North American and 220 European (type F) outlets. However, some high-voltage hair dryers, electric razors, etc. may require a converter.

Please note: Irons, steamers, large portable fans, and surge-protected power strips are not allowed to be taken onboard the ship. They will be confiscated.

For a full list of prohibited items, CLICK HERE.

DAILY PROGRAM - FREESTYLE DAILY

During the cruise, the daily program — The Freestyle Daily — will be available in the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) App, and a printed copy will also be delivered to your cabin each day.

The Freestyle Daily includes bar and dining hours, helpful ship information, the CTTE concert and event schedule, and brief descriptions of many of the daily activities.

CTTE CONCERT SCHEDULE & SCHEDULE UPDATES

All guests will be given a printed, full 5-day schedule at embarkation. The most up-to-date version of the schedule will also be included in the Freestyle Daily which will be delivered to your cabin each evening.

Remember, we are at sea and Mother Nature sometimes has other plans so we may need to adjust the schedule. Should this happen after the daily schedules have been delivered to your cabin, we will post flyers near elevators and make ship-wide announcements.

Finally, you will see our schedule listed on video screens throughout the ship and on the TV in your cabin.

TOP DOWN TOUR

Are you ready for your self-guided tour? Simply walk to the uppermost deck on the ship, follow the maps you will find in the stairwells, and work your way down. On the upper levels you will generally find public areas like pools, pool bars, spas, gym, sports courts/features, deck relaxation areas, buffets, specialty restaurants, observation bars, children/teen areas and more.

Down lower in the entertainment decks, you will find an array of bars, clubs and lounges featuring wines, specialty drinks and music. In addition, you can visit the main dining room, more specialty restaurants, main showroom/theater, coffee bars, shops, Guest Services Desk, Shore Excursion Desk and many additional entertainment features.

Although we hope you will never need it, you will find the ship’s medical center on Deck 4. Please check your Freestyle Daily or contact Guest Services for regular hours and emergency services.

DIETARY RESTRICTIONS OR ALLERGIES

NCL makes every effort to accommodate guests whenever possible. This includes dietary restrictions and allergies. The Pearl can accommodate dietary needs such as: Food allergies, Gluten-free, Low-fat, and Low-sodium. If dietary restrictions or allergies are a concern, please meet with the Head Waiter in the Main Dining Room and Restaurant Managers at other dining venues as soon as possible, to review the menus and identify selections you wish to have modified or avoided. A variety of vegetarian meals are available on all menus in the Main Dining Room and Garden Café every day. Guests do not need to make a special request for these meals.

If you have any food allergies or a dietary requirement that requires Kosher meals or gluten-free food products, you will need to notify NCL. Obtaining the product for many of these requests requires a 30-day notice prior to sailing, and we want to ensure that they are able to fulfill your request. They cannot guarantee Kosher Meal requests made within 30 days of sail date. For the protection of all our guests, it is not permissible to bring aboard any food items that would require preparation by the ship’s staff, or food items that would require cold storage in their kitchen facilities.

Guests may not bring on board any food items other than baby food and/or dry, nonperishable snack items (cookies, crackers, chips, energy bars, etc.).

If you have special dietary needs, please complete the form in the link below and/or call the toll-free number:
(866) 584-9756.

RESERVE SHORE EXCURSIONS

If you did not previously make your shore excursion reservations, it is a good idea to visit the Excursion Desk (located on Deck 7, Port side next to the Atrium) early to make sure you get the tours you desire. Normally the desk is open at embarkation, but in some cases you may have to return during the hours posted. Hopefully, you have done your homework on the ports we will be visiting and know what you want to see and do. Talk over your plans and preferences with the Shore Excursion Agents to determine what choices are best for your party. Don’t forget to discuss all health; mobility or age (children and elderly) constraints so you book excursions that are within your group’s capabilities.

HELPFUL HINT

Do not book shore excursions or spa/beauty services that conflict with any CTTE events you wish to attend.

CONFIRM/RESERVE SPA, FITNESS & BEAUTY APPOINTMENTS

Today’s cruise ships feature some of the most complete and beautiful spa/fitness/beauty facilities in the world, land or sea. If you didn’t book your services online during the online check-in process, then during your tour of the ship, check them out and make your appointments early so you won’t be disappointed. Be advised that “no shows” will typically be charged so ask about cancellation policies.

YOU DESERVE A BREAK!

Congratulations! You’ve had a busy day thus far, but the extra effort and preparation will make it smooth sailing the rest of your cruise. Find your favorite new “watering hole” and relax a bit with a refreshing cocktail.

ORGANIZE YOUR STATEROOM

Upon returning to your cabin, you may have received your checked luggage. If so, take the time to unpack and get organized before your evening out. Remember, there are lots of bags to distribute so please be patient; it may take until late evening before all the bags are delivered.

CLEANING / PRESSING

If you need anything pressed for the next couple of days, contact your room steward to pick up your garments so they are back in time. Try to stay ahead of the schedule by requesting future laundry and dry-cleaning services early. Please note there is a nominal fee for laundry services.

Bringing irons and steamers onboard is not permitted.

WASHING YOUR HANDS

Today’s modern cruise ships are among the most spotless hotels in the world (floating or land based) and adhere to high levels of sanitation control and cleanliness. As is the case in any public space, hotel, or cruise ship, it is important to wash your hands regularly. Many ships provide hand sanitizer dispensers at locations throughout the ship so make sure that you and your party keep your hands sanitized often.

MUSTER DRILL

The Lifeboat Drill or Muster Drill is a compulsory drill that all passengers must participate in prior to sailing. Fortunately, now you will complete your muster (lifeboat) drill prior even boarding the ship! You mean we don’t have to put on our life jackets and stand outside anymore at our muster stations? Correct! You will now watch a video online or in the NCL app during the check-in process. Once you are onboard you will take your cruise card to your muster station (located on your cruise card), the NCL staff member will scan your card and you are all done.

If, for any reason, you do not receive your laminate, please alert a CTTE team member immediately. Please be sure to read the instructions carefully in order to clearly understand how seating works throughout your cruise.

VENUE & SEATING INSTRUCTIONS

While you will be given seating instructions during embarkation, we highly recommend that you take a look at these before you sail so you are fully informed and ready to hit the ground running once on board. These instructions can be found now on our Venue Entry & Seating Instructions Page.

PHOTO EXPERIENCES

During the cruise, there will be photo experiences scheduled with select performers. CTTE photographers will be taking all of the photos and they may be downloaded at no cost using the link: www.VIPCruisePhotos.com. Please allow approximately 1-2 weeks after your return for all photos to be uploaded.

Please note that due to the number of CTTE performers, guests, and the limited time available, the artists will not be able to sign autographs during these sessions.

HELPFUL HINT

If you get photos taken from the ship’s photographers at any time and wish to purchase, you must visit the photo gallery on Deck 7, Aft on or before the last night of the cruise. These photos will NOT be available once the cruise has ended.

If you are hoping to take advantage of some of the specialty restaurants on board (and we HIGHLY recommend you do), be sure to book your reservation as soon as possible, as reservations fill up fast. Also, remember that the Specialty Restaurants are not included in your cruise fare and have an additional charge that will be added to your onboard account.

All the Complimentary Dining options on CTTE are Open Seating, so if you are going to dine in the dining room, be sure to check the daily program for the hours of operation and go when it is right for you.

BAR OPTIONS & HOURS

Please see your Freestyle Daily for the hours for all bars.

All guests are required to follow and adhere to all posted onboard policies, Norwegian’s Guest Conduct Policy follow all guidelines outlined in the Terms and Conditions of the booking, as well as the Shipboard Etiquette as listed on our website. Failure to do so shall result in immediate disembarkation from the vessel. This includes, but not limited to, smoking, alcohol consumption, illegal substances, guest behavior, intentional or unintentional damage to the vessel, and more. We thank you in advance for your cooperation…let’s have a fun and safe sailing!

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have seen multiple discussions and have received emails about Edibles and other cannabis products. ANY AND ALL CANNABIS PRODUCTS ARE PROHIBITED on all cruise ships, and there are no exceptions for the 2026 Cruise to the Edge. Any guests who bring on these products will be removed from the ship and possibly listed on the “No Sail” list with Norwegian Cruise Lines. In addition this is a federal offense, and the consequences are not worth it, please don’t risk it!

SMOKING POLICY

As the health and well-being of guests and crew is of the utmost importance to NCL, indoor public areas, with the exception of the cigar lounges and the casino, throughout all our ships are smoke-free. Dedicated outdoor areas are assigned to smoking.

Indoor Areas

Cigar Lounge: Cigar smoking is permitted in the designated cigar lounge. Cigarettes, pipe, electronic cigarettes and vapor smoking devices are not permitted in the cigar lounge.

Casino: Active Casino players may smoke cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and vapor smoking devices in the Casino during gaming hours. Cigar and pipe smoking is not permitted in the Casino.

Staterooms: Guests are not permitted to smoke cigarettes, cigars, pipe, electronic cigarettes and vapor devices in their staterooms or on their balconies. Smoking inside your stateroom or on your balcony will result in a $250 USD cleaning charge added to your onboard account. If cigarette burns on furniture, linens, towels or carpeting are detected; guests will be advised and charged for the damages.

Outdoor Areas

Smoking, including cigars, pipe, electronic cigarettes and vapor smoking devices, is not permitted in or near venues serving food, the jogging track, outdoor sporting venues, or children’s pool areas.

Pool Deck:

The designated smoking areas for cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars, pipe smoking and vapor smoking devices are permitted on deck 13 forward port side.

Be mindful of signs that indicate where and when smoking is permitted, always use an ash tray, and never throw anything off the ship. Thank you for your cooperation.

ALCOHOL POLICY

Guests are expected to always be responsible for their actions, including during transfers to and from ships, inside terminals, while onboard, at our ports of call, during shore excursions and at our private destinations. Consuming alcohol to excess impairs one’s judgment and reduces one’s ability to recognize and avoid potentially dangerous situations. Guests who choose to consume alcohol must do so responsibly. The ship’s staff may refuse to serve alcoholic beverages to any guest who does not consume alcohol responsibly. Ship’s personnel may request verification of a guest’s age to verify they are of age to consume alcohol pursuant to this policy. Any guest that violates this alcohol policy, will be considered for disciplinary action pursuant to the “Consequences Section” of Norwegian’s Guest Conduct Policy, and may lose their privileges to use the disco or other areas or facilities of the ship or may be required to disembark the vessel.

Alcoholic beverages that are purchased from onboard shops or in ports-of-call (which must be presented to security upon re-boarding), will be held until the last night of the cruise. The Freestyle Daily will list the location and time for pick up. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them.

The minimum drinking age for all alcoholic beverages on Norwegian Cruise Line ships is 21. For purposes of complying with the minimum drinking age requirements, a guest’s age is established upon embarkation (beginning of the cruise). If a guest celebrates their birthday during the cruise, and thereby becomes of age to consume alcohol, the guest may thereafter ask the Guest Services Manager to modify ship’s records to permit their consumption of alcohol during the remainder of the cruise. The guest will be required to appear at Guest Services to present a government issued form of identification to permit verification of their age.

Guests who violate any alcohol policy, including but not limited to underage drinking; providing alcohol to minors or young adults; possessing, concealing or attempting to conceal alcoholic items in their luggage, when boarding, or while on board; engaging in alcohol drinking games; or failing to consume alcohol responsibly, will be considered for discipline under the provisions of this policy.

Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under age 21, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with Norwegian’s Guest Conduct Policy.

BRINGING ALCOHOL ONBOARD
Passengers are prohibited from bringing any alcoholic beverages (excluding wine and champagne) or non-alcoholic beverages onboard.

Passengers may bring up to a maximum of two (2) 750 ml bottles per person of sealed wine and/or champagne on board. These bottles MUST be placed in your carry-on bag ONLY. Passengers agree and understand that bottles that are permitted on board by NCL, regardless of where they are consumed, are subject to a corkage fee of $15 per bottle, which will automatically be charged to the Passengers’ onboard account during embarkation.

PLEASE NOTE: Any Passenger bringing wine onboard will have a much lengthier embarkation process. Passengers will be required to stand in line to fill out a form and declare up to a maximum of two (2) 750 ml bottles of unsealed wine or champagne per person and must agree to pay the corkage fee of $15 per bottle. Bottles are subject to confiscation by NCL for reasons including, but not limited to:

  1. attempting to bring more than two (2) bottles of wine or champagne onboard;
  2. having a bottle that is unsealed or that has been tampered with;
  3. any bottle that is non-wine (other forms of liquor or beer);
  4. a bottle exceeding 750 ml;
  5. any bottle found in a checked bag;
  6. a Passenger refusing to pay the above corkage.

AUDIO, VIDEO & PHOTO POLICY

Guests may be permitted to take photos on board the cruise and during performances with small, non-professional digital cameras and cell phones. Out of respect for our performers and your fellow guests, we ask that you please NOT use flash during shows. Professional-quality cameras with detachable lenses and video-specific cameras are strictly prohibited. In addition, any and all videotaping or audio recording of performances, appearances, Q&As, etc. is prohibited.

The Cruise may include one or more “Photo Experience” scheduled by CTTE, where Passengers may have a photograph taken with a musical artist by a photographer provided by CTTE during a scheduled time period. The allotted time period may not allow all interested Passengers to have their picture taken with the artist(s), and Passengers shall respect the time limitations. For each Photo Experience, Passengers agree to abide by the following rules in connection with each Photo Experience:

  1. Passengers will line up in orderly fashion to wait to have their photo taken, and will follow the instructions of CTTE staff to facilitate allowing as many Passengers as possible to have their picture taken with the artist(s);
  2. Passengers shall only go through the line once, and there shall only be one photograph taken of the Passenger per artist/band;
  3. Passengers will refrain from making small talk with the artist to facilitate moving the line along so others can have their pictures taken;
  4. Passengers will not take their own pictures, or have anyone take pictures other than the photographer provided by CTTE, of their Photo Experience (no taking of pictures by personal cameras or phone);
  5. Passengers will not ask artists for autographs during the Photo Experience to facilitate moving the line along so others can have their pictures taken;
  6. To enable as many Passengers as possible to have their picture taken with the artist(s), and to respect the time and privacy of the artist(s), Passengers shall not linger or loiter at the Photo Experience venue before or after their photograph is taken;
  7. Once the scheduled time period for the Photo Experience has ended, Passengers will disburse in peaceful fashion and leave the Photo Experience venue, even if there was not time to take Passenger’s photograph with the artist(s).

VIDEOTAPING WAIVER

Please be aware that a professional video crew will be on board shooting footage to be used for the promotion of future Cruise to the Edge events. When the video team is shooting in any particular location/venue on the ship, your presence in said location/venue acknowledges your permission for your likeness to be used in the future for non-commercial broadcast promotional videos or still pictures. If you do not wish to be filmed please notify the video crew and be prepared to exit the location/venue for a short time until taping is complete. Thank you for your cooperation.

THE ARTISTS

The Artists are available throughout the entire cruise experience, from concerts, photo ops, Q&A sessions and more. In fact, they have a crazy schedule with very little downtime. Please be respectful of the limited time off that they have during the cruise. With all the scheduled, you will have plenty of opportunities to interact with them and see them perform. Please, when you see one of our artists taking a break, by all means wave and say, “hi” in passing, but respect that this is a small period of downtime for them before their next event.

In the event of a violation of the Shipboard Etiquette or the Terms & Conditions by Passenger during a performance and/or the Cruise, Passenger acknowledges that security personnel will act quickly to protect the artists, crew, and other passengers, and to prevent Passenger from disrupting the performance or creating safety issues for others. Such action may include prohibiting Passenger from attending Cruise performances and events, and/or removing Passenger from the Cruise (at any port), at Passenger’s sole expense and responsibility.

NCL’s procedure for disembarking the ship could not be any easier! With both the option to check your bag the night before and retrieve it once you reach the pier or “Easy Walk-Off Disembarkation” where you hand-carry your own luggage and be one of the first to disembark…the process will be a breeze, and you can choose which option is right for you. Make sure to review the instruction information delivered to your stateroom generally on the evening before the last day of the sailing.

If you choose to have NCL assist you with your luggage, simply follow the disembarkation instructions given to you and add your luggage tag to your luggage. Luggage tags correspond with the time you would like to leave. It’s that simple! If you need to change your departure time, please go to the Guest Service Desk, Deck 7, mid-ship starting from 12:00 noon onwards on the last day to exchange your luggage tags. Colored time slots are limited. Once that color is gone, kindly select another color.

Once you have your selected luggage tags, fill them out and attach them to your luggage before putting your bags outside your stateroom door. Bags must be out in the hallway the night before departure and the ship will instruct you by what time this is required. Remember, you will be putting your luggage outside your door and will not have access to your luggage in the morning. We strongly suggest that you have a small carry-on bag for your morning essentials and toiletries.

In addition, if needed, guests may be asked to fill out a US Customs form, which will be provided to you the night prior to disembarkation, along with instructions.

Once you have cleared customs, (make sure to have your passports and/or proof of citizenship handy) you will depart the terminal. There are plenty of taxis that will be waiting outside for departing guests.

NORWEGIAN PEARL

Ship’s passengers may be contacted via telephone using the above phone numbers. Please have the ship Name (Norwegian Pearl) as well as credit card information handy. The cost is $7.95 USD a minute and can be charged to a MasterCard® or Visa®. From outside the U.S. additional long-distance charges will also apply. We advise that your friends, co-workers and relatives use it only in case of an emergency.
